Other Medias
Although Graham is known best as a painter over the years he has pursued many ideas through a number of different Medias. Let us show you some other work which Graham is proud of.
Tipperary crystal
Last summer Knuttel started a project with Tipperary crystal to design a range of fine china. It was launched in September and has proved a big success. Graham takes great delight in seeing his work in this form. It has always been vital for him to feel that his work is accessible and gives delight to as many people as possible. This range of china is achieving that for Graham and he is enjoying people’s reaction to it immensely.
Graham has tried to describe his work as simply as possible because he likes his work to speak for itself. If you would like to learn more about Grahams work please go to www.knuttel.com or contact sales@knuttelprints.com
Sculptures
Although Graham is best known as a painter, he graduated from art school as a sculptor. In those days his medium was woodcarving and construction. Recently he returned to this medium for his exhibition, “Back to Basics”. Graham also works extensively in silver, bronze, ceramics and papier mache. His love of sculpture has always stayed with him and has also taken him to many places from stage and set design to putting up headstones in the cemetery.
Tapestries
These images are woollen tapestries woven for Graham by “Factoire Pinton” in Aubusson France. One of the oldest manufacturers of tapestry in Europe, they have woven works for among others, Dali, Ledger, Picasso and Matisse. They are world renowned for their skills and it is an honour for Graham to have his work accepted by them for weaving.
Carpets
These carpets are made for Knuttel by the Dixon carpet company in Galway. Formerly known as “V’soske Joyce”, Dixons have produced carpets for clients ranging from the White House to the Sultan of Brunei.
They are usually hung on the wall and are most effective in large spaces. The enjoyment the artist gets from this medium is to see his imagery and a large scale. The softness and sheen of the wall makes the image warm and inviting. The carpets shown here are made in editions of six. He also makes “one off” carpets to suit the buyer.
